I speak for the same reasons I write: to help people understand how language is the tool, technology, & gift that shapes our realities and relationships.

I translate research into lived experience, combining linguistic science & reflections on Faith in a way that helps people reframe familiar ideas.
I like to challenge my audiences, so my style can sometimes be shockingly or humorously bold, but I try to temper this through a classically Midwest humility born out of my faith: I make much of others but little of myself.
Before I was an author, I founded Memra: a linguistics‑informed learning lab that brought these ideas into leadership teams and public‑facing organizations.
Today, I bring that same approach to audiences who want to replace their understanding of language as relationally risky or empty performance with a new understanding, where language is a divine gift that we are intended to use as an instrument of creation.
