I write a twice-monthly email newsletter for readers who are interested in language and drawn to timeless wisdom.

My goal with every newsletter is to help my readers rediscover the generative power of words through linguistics, behavioral science, and biblical wisdom: the ancient tradition that understood language as a force capable of making worlds well before linguistic science proved it to be so.

This newsletter began years ago through Memra, the linguistics‑informed learning lab I founded to help leaders and communities do more with words. And it’s still that - only now I write more about language-in-the-world and less about language-in-the-workplace.

What you can expect:

Thought-provoking essays.
Useful resources.
Linguistic research translated into lived experience.
Notes on language, identity, and faith.

A Small but Steady Community

My platform is modest; I abstain from traditional social media for reasons of conviction and mental health, so my work grows more slowly. All the numbers you see here represent real connections and relationships I’ve built over time.

A Brief Aside About Publishing

In today’s publishing landscape, a nonfiction writer can have a brilliant idea, a polished proposal, and a decade of experience and still have their work be evaluated soley upon whether or not they have a preexisting, online audience. It’s why every influencer under the sun is now also an “author.”

And hey, I’m not mad. I get it. Publishing is an industry; publishers can make quicker money through influencer audiences than they can with a well-written, innovative idea from a nobody.

Which is why I say to you: THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SUBSCRIBING. I am currently in the process of publishing my second book, and growing this newsletter audience is a huge part of that.
